Message Keep in mind several things:

1) The artist (Alex) has reproduction rights to this work. He has set the price and is going to make some money from his work as he should.

2) Costs behind this printing are more than just dropping into a local shop and running off some copies. Copying an oil painting isn't cheap, as the average costs for gecée setup is $ 200.00 to get a scanned/colour corrected/polarized image, which was done and paid for already. We are now shopping around for printing options, and thank you to Jodecy and others who have made suggestions.

3) Alex has decided to limit prints to 50. Each one will be numbered.

4) We have looked at cheaper paper options, they didn't look anything as good as the print we just got made. And they weren't vastly cheaper than the semi-gloss paper. Again, this isn't about selling prints at cost, but providing a quality print for those who want it and yes, allowing the artist something as well. Canvas prints were over $ 100.00 per print at cost, not factoring in setup costs and artist profit. We decided not to go with this to keep costs below $ 100.00.

5) I am not making a dime off of this. I have the original and the first print, both of which I paid for. I asked Alex if he would consider reproductions for those who wanted them, and he said sure. Profits from this run are all going entirely to him.

6) Most print shops I have dealt with are pretty clueless about colour matching and print quality. The current outfit (Elite Lithographers) take time to make sure we're happy with the results. We have been dealing with them for over a week, and they are great people.

7) The price will be in Canadian dollars. Currently trading at $ 1.17, $ 100.00CDN equals $ 84.86USD

I realize that people want it as cheaply printed as possible. However, I also want a quality product, which isn't something I can guarantee by having an online shop do the printing. Again, pricing is Alex's decision, and that isn't final.

Regards,

The 300ZX Turbo is a dance; it's a song;
it's rolling, roaring automotive art.
There is no color that doesn't suit it.
There is no mood-lifting chemical
substance it cannot replace.
